Dales criminology graduate Amy Bell has started a training pathway which could see her rise up the ranks at Leyburn-based solicitors Scotts Hall & Birtles.

Legal assistant Amy is the latest recruit at the firm to embark on a professional development route.

The 28-year-old, of Leyburn, is undertaking the two year CILEX paralegal course which would enable her to take more control over client work, and could lead to opportunities to develop further through the CILEX route to solicitor level.

Amy said: “When I joined, I was told that there would be opportunities to develop within my role, so I’m really excited to get going on this.

“I’ve always had an interest in the legal profession and I’ve always had a passion for learning.

“It’s great to know that I have the support of the team behind me.”

The former Wensleydale School and Northumbria University student joined Scotts Hall & Birtles in 2024, working mainly on conveyancing matters, Wills and probate and client relations.

She said: “It’s just been a great experience from the start - everyone’s really friendly and focussed on providing a quality service. I’m looking forward to developing here.”
